At University Main Oval, our Ringwood 1st XI were downed by Melbourne University 1st XI away from home.
We batted first and finished with 8/164 on the board from 50 overs. Jackson Freeman was the pick of our batters with 34 off 51 balls. Solid support came from Benjamin Gibson, who made 30.
In reply, Melbourne University 1st XI passed our total, finishing on 6/165 in 36.3 overs. Fergus McKenna posted 54 for our opponents, a stylish fifty. Yuvraj Singh added 33 for the hosts. Justin Beaton grabbed three for 29.
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with. A tough stretch, and one the team will be determined to end.
Credit to our opponents, and well played.
