It was a day to regroup for our Ringwood 2nd XI, who were bettered by Carlton 2nd XI in Kookaburra Men's Premier action.
Over the course of the match we totalled 9/332, and Carlton 2nd XI 5/335. A century to Patrick Gouge, who made 125 off 230 balls with fifteen fours. Fifty for Harry Flynn, who finished with 91 off 169 balls. Matthew Mountain made a great 54 off 69 balls, a well-made fifty. Nicholas Brennan was the pick of the hosts' bowlers with four for 57.
Mountain picked up two for 69 off seventeen overs. Hats off to Keir Lucas, whose 143 was a quality century for our opponents. The hosts' best was a half-century from Akshith Sriram, who made 71.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
We'll go again.
